Job Description
We are hiring a Director of Information Technology (IT) in Sioux City, Iowa, for one of the largest meat processing facilities. This role leads all technology operations within the plant and is responsible for managing IT systems, supporting production operations, and ensuring reliable, efficient, and secure technology across the organization.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (Saturdays as needed)
- Morning start; may extend into evenings
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all plant IT operations and systems
- Oversee IT team (developers, network specialists, PLC programmers, support staff)
- Ensure performance and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems
- Manage and support business systems (JD Edwards, AS400, Carlisle, M3)
- Implement technology upgrades and system improvements
- Support plant automation and optimize production through data and technology
- Troubleshoot system and connectivity issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain data integrity, reporting tools, and system documentation
- Partner with plant operations, accounting, and engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with safety and company policies

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 8–10+ years of IT experience in a manufacturing environment
- Leadership experience managing IT teams
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems and plant operations
- Experience with ERP systems (JDE/Oracle preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
