ABOUT YOU:

The Product Owner is a strategic, client-focused leader responsible for executing the product roadmap and managing client relationships. They collaborate with the chief product owner on roadmap development and lead products throughout their lifecycle. This role requires exceptional communication, deep Agile/Scrum expertise, and the ability to navigate stakeholder priorities, manage scope, and keep all parties aligned.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver on the product vision:
  • Co-own and execute product roadmap with the chief product owner.
  • Partner with stakeholders to inform product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
  • Manage and communicate clear, prioritized roadmap with clients and internal teams; manage scope and change requests effectively.


  • Inspire and drive the squad to deliver great products: 
  • Decompose roadmap items into well-defined requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize and treat customer tickets in a timely manner.
  • Lead Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, Sprint Review, Retrospectives).
  • Conduct regular product demonstrations showcasing completed features and improvements to clients.


  • Manage client relationships and stakeholder communication:
  • Document all new features to educate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients on product status, priorities, risks, and roadmap updates.
  • Clearly articulate feature priorities, business rationale, and technical decisions in client-friendly language.
  • Conduct PO Reviews and User Acceptance Testing (UAT); manage client feedback and requirement documentation.
  • Provide regular status updates to all stakeholders; escalate issues promptly and propose solutions.
  • Build consensus between client needs and internal team capacity; negotiate scope and manage expectations.
  • Communicate technical debt, risks, and mitigation strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Present complex information to diverse audiences; tailor messaging by audience expertise.


  • Ensure products are ready for go:
  • Document features to educate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with production team on implementation improvements.
  • Manage release planning and schedule coordination with clients; conduct UAT and sign-off.


  • Be customer-centric and continuously improve:
  • Conduct customer interviews and workshops to understand end-user needs.
  • Monitor post-launch performance and product KPIs; report metrics and insights to clients.
  • Gather and document client feedback; incorporate into future planning and prioritization.
  • Lead conflict resolution and scope management discussions with data-driven recommendations.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent
  • 3+ years product owner experience managing B2B SaaS products with client-facing responsibilities
  • Hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies; proven facilitation of Scrum ceremonies
  • Experience with development tracking software (e.g., Jira)
  • Demonstrated experience creating technical and non-technical documentation
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in agile environments and coordinating with external stakeholders
  • Established background launching software in partnership with engineering and client teams
  • Proven experience conducting PO Reviews, UAT, and managing client acceptance criteria
  • Experience managing scope, change requests, and stakeholder conflict resolution


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication; ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences (clients, engineers, executives, end-users)
  • Proven success defining, implementing, and communicating end-to-end product vision and strategy
  • Expert-level backlog management; ability to clearly prioritize features and explain prioritization rationale
  • Strong decision-making skills; ability to assess business impact, risks, opportunities, and trade-offs
  • Excellent client management: relationship building, expectation management, and satisfaction focus
  • Comfortable presenting to large stakeholder groups; skilled at conducting client demos and workshops
  • In-depth Agile/Scrum expertise with hands-on facilitation of sprint ceremonies
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills for scope and priority conflicts
  • Ability to communicate risks, technical debt, and mitigation strategies to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience tracking and reporting product KPIs and performance metrics to clients
  • Documentation and requirements management skills; ability to translate client needs into product specs
  • Prior technical background strongly preferred; ability to understand and explain technical concepts
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder needs
