Senior UI/UX Designer for AI Context Platform

Jitera, whose mission is to "Build the Next Era of 'Build'", is a global AI start-up developing and selling the AI context platform "Jitera" – a SaaS product – whilst also providing development support, including modernizing clients' legacy systems, by leveraging "Jitera". The AI Context Platform "Jitera" is a platform that automates system development and modification. It can read existing system code and analyze system structures, automatically generating high-precision design documents to streamline system development and modification, leading to cost reductions. As a next-generation development environment based on context, "Jitera" achieves overall efficiency gains and quality improvements in system development.

Immediately following its product launch in September 2024, adoption has progressed rapidly across multiple major system integrators including Nippon Steel Solutions and SCSK, as well as dozens of enterprise companies, achieving overwhelming growth. Furthermore, leveraging the characteristics of an AI context platform, adoption is advancing not only for use as a "Development AI Agent" but also for companies intending to utilize it as a "Business AI Agent" to streamline operations such as sales and administrative tasks. By continuously learning all internal contexts, Jitera replaces routine administrative tasks while resolving deep-rooted corporate challenges such as the personalization of work. This is a leadership role in UI/UX design for the context platform Jitera.

In addition to traditional design responsibilities, this position requires you to act as a “product builder who handles everything from design to implementation” in the era of AI.

As development speed has significantly improved thanks to the evolution of Coding Agent, designers themselves will dive into prototyping and implementation to maximize both product quality and speed.

Design Strategy and Product Leadership

- Formulating the design strategy and UX vision for the entire Jitera product experience
- Building a consistent UX design philosophy and design system based on the product vision
- Experience design that accounts for the unique UX characteristics of AI products (ambiguity, non-determinism, Team-in-the-loop)
- Harness engineering to ensure engineers develop in accordance with the UX design and design system

UI/UX Design

- UI/UX design and improvement based on user challenges
- Designing user journeys, validating hypotheses, and conducting usability testing
- Designing and maintaining the design system (components, tokens, guidelines)
- Interaction design for AI features (generative UI, streaming UX, etc.)

Prototyping and Implementation

- Prototyping beyond Figma (code-based UI validation)
- Front-end implementation using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/React, etc.
- Rapid UI development using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code or Jitera’s Coding Agent)
- Setting up local development environments using Docker and internal tools
- Participating in code management and reviews using GitHub, etc.

Organizational Collaboration

- Close collaboration with PMs, engineers, QA, and marketing
- Acting as a bridge between design and implementation to improve the overall product development process

- 5+ years of UI/UX design experience
- Design experience in SaaS, particularly in the AI/ML or developer tools sectors
- Proven track record in user research and data-driven design improvements
- Business-level English proficiency (for collaboration with global teams)

Technical Skills

- Practical understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Development experience using front-end frameworks such as React (or strong motivation)
- Understanding of development workflows using Git/GitHub
- Basic understanding of setting up development environments using Docker, etc.
- Experience using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)

Design Skills

- Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Figma
- Experience building and maintaining design systems
- Experience designing and conducting usability tests
- Understanding of UX in AI products (or strong interest)

- Proven track record of successful product design and branding in the global market
- Design experience at an AI-first product company
- Experience launching product design initiatives at a startup
- Experience managing a design team
- Experience collaborating with product marketing
- Advanced skills in motion design and prototyping
- Business-level Japanese proficiency

At Jitera, we adopt a fully remote work style, allowing employees to work from anywhere in the world, including from home. We occasionally hold offline meetings with clients or internal off-site meetings.

We also offer a fully flexible work schedule. While you’ll need to be mindful of client and team business hours to ensure work isn’t disrupted, you can adjust your working hours flexibly to suit your personal circumstances.
