We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and innovative Embedded Systems Electronics Engineer with expertise in both electronics and software development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in conceiving, designing, prototyping, and implementing cutting-edge solutions that merge electronics and software to drive innovation in our products and systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create groundbreaking technologies that address complex challenges and push the boundaries of what's possible.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conceptualization and Ideation: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to brainstorm and conceptualize innovative solutions that integrate electronics and software, meeting user needs and business objectives.
  • System Design: Lead the architectural design of integrated electronics and software systems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality between hardware and software components.
  • Hardware and Software Development: Take a hands-on approach to develop and prototype both electronics and software components, utilizing your expertise in areas such as embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and programming languages.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build functional prototypes to validate the feasibility and performance of integrated solutions, iterating as necessary to optimize design and functionality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration of electronics and software into the overall product or system. Innovation and Problem Solving: Apply creative thinking and problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges and develop novel approaches that differentiate our products in the market.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in electronics and software development, emerging technologies, and industry trends to drive ongoing innovation.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of designs, development processes, and testing procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, tasks, and resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliver innovative solutions on time.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Must live within reasonable travel distance to the site. We offer out of state relocation assistance if needed for the right candidate.
  • Strong combination of electronic engineering and software development skills, along with an emphasis on innovation and out-of-the box thinking.
  • Strong experience, 5-10+ years hands on work experience (academic experience excluded), including schematic capture, PCB layout, and familiarity with components and technologies.
  • Proficiency in software development, including embedded programming languages such as C/C++ or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors, and motor/actuator control.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with version control, debugging, and testing tools.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID) is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering innovative projects that combine electronics and software.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent documentation skills to capture designs, code, and test procedures.
  • Lives within reasonable driving distance to and from facility or able to relocate to Vandalia, OH. Hybrid work as long as near the facility.
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
