Role: Data Engineer - Remote - (6 Month Contract)
Salary: £350 - 370 (Inside IR35)

Summary
A new role has opened up for a Data Engineer to work on a 6-month contract. The company are within the public sector and offering the role as fully remote.
You will be integral in the delivery and support of the company's current project moving the company subscription system from a legacy application to a new cloud hosted solution. You will be working alongside the company data partner to ensure work is delivered in a timely manner and high company standards are met.
They are significantly behind on this project, therefore there is the need for a contract resource. This position does involve business critical systems
The Role
The data engineer will need to develop Python and Bash scripts to process the receipt of these file in the intermediary system and carry out any necessary transformations before sending the file to other downstream systems
You will be working with a data migration partner to transfer data from our legacy subscriptions system to our new solution. The data engineer will work closely with that partner and internal stakeholders to ensure this work is delivered to time and quality standards expected from this critical component of the project. The data engineer will need to work with the data partner to confirm post migration data tests are robust and complete

Essential Experience
- Python and Bash
- Good understanding of Linux and scheduling tasking of scripts
- TSQL
- Power BI / PostgreSQL / Jitterbit is a bonus!
