Job Description

At Jointly, we’re making prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements simple, accessible, and affordable for Canadian couples. Our lawyer-designed platform guides couples through a clear process so they can protect their future together without the cost and intimidation of a traditional legal process. Since launching in March of 2025, Jointly has become Canada's most popular online prenup platform with a first mover advantage, achieved bootstrapped break-even status, and regulatory approval in three of Canada's largest provinces (and counting).

Quick note on our product: Jointly’s agreements are not AI-generated — every clause is drafted by lawyers. That’s a deliberate and important part of what makes us trusted.

Data from 2017 shows that 8% of Canadian couples have prenups.  But this year TD Bank found that 31% of them want a prenup — which jumps to 52% for Gen Z. The gap between the people who want agreements and people who get them exists because of price and convenience.

The US market shows us what happens when you solve those problems. In 2010, three percent of Americans had a prenup. 2025 data shows that has risen to over 40% of married millennials and Gen Z. It’s no coincidence that affordable online prenups became available in the US during that time period.

We are on the same curve and we’re here to meet that demand. This job is an opportunity for the right builder to play a founding role in creating one of Canada's great legal-tech businesses while providing greater access to justice for millions of Canadians, and keeping more families out of expensive and contentious separations.

The Role

We’re looking for an AI-obsessed Digital Marketing Lead who knows how to use AI to do more with less.

You’ll own digital marketing across every channel including SEO, Google Ads, paid social, organic social, email, and lifecycle — and you’ll use AI tools to move faster, ship more, and punch far above your weight. As a startup, efficiency isn’t a nice-to-have; it’s how we win. We want someone who has genuinely rewired how they work: building custom GPTs and Claude projects for recurring workflows, using AI for keyword research and content briefs, automating reporting, generating and iterating on ad creative, running competitor analysis in minutes, and stitching tools together with Zapier, Make, or n8n so the repetitive parts run themselves.

Even though we’re not an AI platform, we’re looking for a marketer with deep AI fluency in how you market the platform (efficiency, creative velocity, smarter decisions), and we expect you to communicate the lawyer-designed difference clearly and credibly to our customers.

You’ll report directly to the founders to grow the Jointly brand and bring more Canadian couples into the funnel.

What you’ll be doing
  • Own and execute Jointly’s multi-channel digital marketing strategy across SEO, Google Ads, paid social, organic social, email, and SMS
  • Build and own monthly and quarterly marketing forecasts across channels — and hit them. You'll set the targets, defend the assumptions, and report against actuals so the team always knows where we stand
  • Build an AI-native marketing stack: custom GPTs/Claude projects, prompt libraries, and automations that make one marketer feel like a team of five
  • Plan, launch, and optimize performance campaigns on Google Ads and Meta, with a sharp eye on CAC, conversion rate, and ROAS
  • Drive SEO from the ground up: keyword strategy, on-page optimization, content briefs, technical SEO basics, and measurable organic growth  with a particular focus on provincial landing pages as we expand across Canada
  • Write, ship, and iterate on content across landing pages, blog, email, and social, using AI to draft and your judgment to make it actually good, on-brand, and legally sound
  • Design and run lifecycle email campaigns that move couples from “thinking about it” all the way through to completing their agreement
  • Manage website content and landing pages, running experiments to lift conversion across the funnel (free signup → paid Build)
  • Explore partnership and affiliate marketing channels (financial planners, mortgage brokers, wedding industry, family lawyers) to reach couples at the right life moments
  • Build reporting and dashboards so performance across channels is always visible and decisions are data-backed
  • Stay ahead of what’s new in AI, marketing, and our category and bring ideas back to the team weekly

What we’re looking for
  • Proven digital marketing results across multiple channels (SEO, paid, social, email), whether from agencies, startups, or in-house. We care about results, not years.
  • Deep, hands-on AI fluency. You can walk us through custom workflows, GPTs, agents, or automations you’ve built and the hours they’ve saved you. Bonus if you’ve worked with any of Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Midjourney, Runway, Cursor, n8n, Zapier, Clay, or similar.
  • Strong performance marketing chops. You’re comfortable in Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager, you understand attribution, and you can read a funnel.
  • SEO instincts. You know how to find opportunities, brief content that ranks, and avoid common pitfalls. Experience with local/geo-targeted SEO is a plus given our provincial rollout.
  • A strong writer who can adapt voice across a landing page, an email, and an Instagram post and who knows how to prompt AI without sounding like AI.
  • Data-comfortable. GA4, Looker/Google Sheets, attribution tools. You use data to decide what to do next.
  • Startup energy. You’re excited by a blank page, you figure things out, and you ship. You’re comfortable doing more with less and wearing multiple hats.
  • Judgment around a sensitive category. Prenups and cohabitation agreements are personal. You know how to market with empathy, not hype.
  • Bonus points: experience in legal tech, fintech, insurance, or other trust-heavy categories; partnership/affiliate marketing; lifecycle tools (Klaviyo, Customer.io); WordPress.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary: $75,000–$95,000 CAD base, commensurate with experience
  • Health Spending Account
  • ESOP
  • A high-impact role with real ownership as our first marketing hire
  • Direct collaboration with the founders, a high degree of autonomy and the chance to shape how Jointly grows across Canada
  • Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as Jointly scales
  • 100% remote within Canada, with a preference for British Columbia.

How to apply

Send us your resume plus a short note answering:

1.       What’s one AI workflow or tool you’ve built that changed how you work?

2.       A marketing win you’re proud of: what moved, and how did you know?

Jointly is committed to building a diverse team and encourages applications from individuals from underrepresented groups. We provide reasonable accommodations during the recruitment process. Just let us know what you need.

A note on funding: This role may be eligible for wage subsidy support through the NRC-IRAP Youth Employment Program. Candidates who qualify (recent post-secondary graduates under the age of 30) are encouraged to mention their eligibility during the application process. Eligibility is not required to apply — we will hire the best candidate regardless.
