Senior Migration Consultant - Qmetry to Xray Cloud

One of my direct clients, a Telecommunication equipment manufacturer, is looking for a Migration Consultant.

100% remote

Skills - Qmetry-to-Xray Cloud migration, XRay, Jira

Duration - 6+ months, long term, C2C/FTE

Rate - DOE

Client details will be shared post technical call

Lead the migration of 10,000 active test cases from Qmetry for Jira Cloud to Xray for Jira Cloud, including rewiring ~30 CI/CD pipelines that depend on test result reporting. Own architecture decisions, sequencing, cutover, and post-migration stabilization. This is a hands-on lead role, not an oversight role.

What you'll deliver

Inventory and classification of the existing test estate (active, archive, retire)

Xray repository and custom field design, including test set / test plan / test execution strategy

Migration execution using Xpand's importer plus custom REST API ETL for the cases the importer doesn't cover

Pipeline rewiring across Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps (whichever apply), including JUnit, Cucumber, and TestNG result imports

Phased cutover plan, parallel run, decommission

Knowledge transfer to the client QA team

Required experience

3+ years as a senior Xray for Jira Cloud admin or migration lead

At least one prior Qmetry-to-Xray migration on Cloud, end to end, where you were the named lead

Hands-on with Xpand's Qmetry-to-Xray importer AND custom ETL via Xray REST APIs

Direct experience rewiring CI/CD pipelines to publish test results via Xray's import endpoints

Working knowledge of JUnit, Cucumber, and TestNG result formats and their Xray mapping quirks

Jira admin depth: JQL, custom field administration at scale, permission schemes, automation rules

Written architecture decision records on prior projects
