A fast-growing aviation technology company is seeking a talented Android Engineer to help build and scale a mission-critical mobile platform used by operational teams in real-world field environments. This role will play a key part in shaping product requirements, developing new Android features, and delivering a highly reliable, intuitive mobile experience for users operating in fast-paced, low-connectivity conditions.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end Android development across system design, UX implementation, feature development, and testing
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and operational stakeholders to deliver new mobile capabilities
- Build scalable, performant, and maintainable Kotlin-based Android applications used in operational environments globally
- Translate user feedback into actionable product and UX improvements
- Ensure UI/UX consistency while designing for rugged, real-world field conditions and intermittent connectivity
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD workflows to maintain high engineering standards
- Contribute to the long-term roadmap and architecture of the company’s mobile platform

Requirements
- 3+ years of professional Android development experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK
- Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, or similar
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, including offline caching and error handling strategies
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Espresso, and Appium
- Experience with Git and Agile development environments
- Strong understanding of material design principles, responsive layouts, and mobile performance optimization
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a startup environment with high ownership and autonomy
