Job Description
[3005] Founding FullStack Engineer | Orlando, FL
About Us
We are a tech-driven roadside assistance platform on a mission to turn car-trouble panic into white-glove peace of mind. Our platform is the frontline experience for stranded drivers and service providers so it must be fast, reliable on spotty highways, and secure with sensitive location and payments.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Founding Full Stack Developer to lead and own the design, architecture, and continued development of our core platform. In this role, you will help build the technological foundation of a system that customers and service providers can depend on during high-stress, time-sensitive moments.
As a founding member of the engineering organization, you will be responsible for shaping both the front-end and back-end ecosystem; ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance from the ground up. You will define the application architecture, select the core frameworks and technologies, and establish the engineering standards and best practices that will guide our future development teams.
This position requires a builder’s mindset, strong product intuition, and the ability to operate with both strategic vision and hands-on execution. You will partner closely with leadership to translate business objectives into durable technical solutions while helping lay the groundwork for a high-performing engineering culture.
Role Scope & Reporting
- This is a foundational engineering role reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, with significant visibility across the organization.
- As our first Full Stack–focused engineer, you will partner closely with product, design, infrastructure, and leadership to architect and deliver a scalable, end-to-end platform. You will play a critical role in bridging front-end experiences with robust back-end systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security from day one.

- You will operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy, influencing key technical decisions while translating strategic business priorities into durable engineering solutions.
- As we scale, you will help recruit, onboard, and mentor future engineers, contribute to defining our engineering culture, and influence the long-term technology roadmap, team structure, and development lifecycle.
Location & Work Model
- This role is initially remote, with the expectation that relocation to the headquarters, may be required as the organization scales.
- Occasional travel may be requested for team on-sites, audits, reliability reviews, and third-party assessments.
Key Responsibilities
·       Architecture & Foundations: Define a clean, modular service architecture (monolith-first with boundaries or microservices where justified). Own API contracts (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), pagination, idempotency, and versioning.
·       Dispatch, Maps & Realtime: Design endpoints and workers for job assignment, routing/ETAs, geospatial queries, and live tracking (WebSockets/server-sent events).
·       Data & Storage: Model relational data (e.g., PostgreSQL) with migrations; apply caching (Redis) and queues/streams (e.g., SQS/Kafka) for reliability and throughput.

·       Offline-First Sync: Implement resilient write/read paths, retries, conflict resolution, and at-least-once/ exactly-once processing where it matters.
·       AuthN/Z & Identity: OAuth2/OIDC or passwordless, JWT/opaque tokens, refresh rotation, RBAC/ABAC, rate limiting, and audit trails.
·       Payments & KYC: Integrate payment rails and payouts; implement webhooks with idempotency keys; support KYC/AML flows and error recovery.
·       Security & Compliance: Secrets management, TLS everywhere, request signing, PII minimization, encryption at rest/in transit, privacy-by-design; lay groundwork for SOC2-style controls.
·       Observability & SRE: Set SLOs; instrument metrics, tracing, and structured logs; build runbooks and on-call with actionable alerts.
·       Quality & Delivery: CI/CD pipelines, automated tests (unit/integration/contract/e2e), blue-green or canary deploys, database change safety.
·       Cloud & Infra (IaC): Containerize (Docker), orchestrate (Kubernetes or ECS), and manage infra via Terraform/Pulumi on AWS/GCP; cost awareness from day one.
·       Collaboration: Partner with Mobile/Web to shape APIs; with Product/Design on UX constraints; and with Ops/Support on tooling for incidents and refunds.

·       Hands-on with auth, payments, webhooks, and secure data handling.
·       Strong testing discipline, CI/CD chops, and an observability mindset (metrics/traces/logs).
