Database Administrator

QAT Global, a 25+ years IT consulting firm based in the US, is seeking a highly-skilled Database Administrator with the ability to communicate well in English. This position will work directly with the customer located in the US and with development teams in our US, Costa Rica, and Brazil locations.

• This opportunity can be 100% remote

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases
• Optimize performance through query tuning and indexing strategies
• Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery
• Ensure high availability and reliability
• Support database security and access management
• Collaborate with development teams on schema design
• Troubleshoot performance and system issues
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions

• Support migrations, upgrades, and patching
• Document configurations and processes

Required Experience

• 3+ years as a Database Administrator or similar role
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Performance tuning and optimization experience
• Backup and recovery expertise
• Understanding of relational database design
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• BS/MS in Systems Analysis and Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• DevOps experience (CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK)
• Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
