Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer

Looking for a Mid-Level engineer with 4+ years experience

Southampton based on-site full time, no remote working available or relocation considered

Up to £50,000 per annum + benefits

Small tech company providing specialist sensors and technology to the water industrySpectrum IT are partnered with a SME designer and manufacturer of high-quality PCBs and sensors for the UKs water network. Their mission is to improve fault detection and quality monitoring through innovative sensors and components that allowed informed decision making through higher quality data.

As the business continues to grow and build out their R&D capabilities, they need Mid-Level mechanical engineer to join a small team. You will be working to progress our hardware products with an emphasis on low power electronics, high sensitivity analogue electronics. This will entail both developing new products and improving the existing product range, as well as establishing good design and test practices.

Must Have Skills/experience

Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering

4+ years industry experience in Mechanical design

Strong 3D CAD skills (e.g. SolidEdge)

Cost-engineering

Design-for-manufacture & Design for ingress protection

Development From Prototype Through To ManufactureBeneficial Skills/experience

Assembly and fabrication (e.g. for prototypes)

Experience in working with electronics

BoM creation and obsolescence

Sensor calibration and test automation

Rapid prototyping

Project management

Technical writing, processes and documentation
