Zero Penny is an AI-native performance marketing agency โ we run paid acquisition for growing brands and use automation to do it faster, sharper, and leaner than traditional agencies.
We're hiring a Head of Performance Marketing to lead our ads team, build the systems they operate in, and own paid acquisition outcomes across our client portfolio. You'll work directly with the founder, manage a team of Ads Managers, and codify our automation-first approach into how every campaign gets built and optimized.
This is a leadership hire, not an IC seat. You'll be making the calls our team relies on โ and building the AI systems that let us serve clients better than traditional agencies do.
What you'll do
- Own performance outcomes across the full client portfolio โ ROAS, CPL, scaling, retention
- Manage and coach a team of Ads Managers โ weekly 1:1s, campaign reviews, performance management
- Build and deploy AI prompts, agents, and automation workflows for ads operations โ creative briefs, audience research, campaign QA, reporting
- Run new account onboarding and strategy on complex client situations
- Define hiring criteria for future AM additions; lead interviews and trial-task design
- Partner with the founder on agency-level priorities โ pricing, client mix, capacity, capability gaps
What you bring
- 5+ years in performance marketing, with 1+ year managing a team (formal direct reports, not just "led projects")
- Hands-on Meta Ads expertise โ you still open Ads Manager and run campaigns yourself, not just oversee
- Track record managing $20K+/month in personal ad spend across multiple clients/accounts
- Demonstrated AI workflow building โ you've personally built and deployed at least one custom prompt, agent, or automation that other people on your team actually use daily
- Strong analytical instincts paired with strong written communication
- Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions without complete data
