AI Engineering Team Lead

We’re looking for a US-experienced AI / Recommendation Systems leader to relocate to Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur and help architect the next generation of AI-native recommendation and agentic systems.

We are hiring an experienced AI engineering leader to build and scale next-generation AI-native systems across intelligent customer service, LLM-powered applications, and large-scale personalized recommendation platforms.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who combines deep technical expertise in recommendation systems and modern AI/LLM architectures with strong execution and organizational leadership.

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for our AI organization across intelligent customer service, LLM applications, and large-scale personalization / recommendation systems
• Lead the exploration and productionization of cutting-edge AI technologies, driving adoption of AI-native engineering workflows to significantly improve development velocity
• Architect and scale foundational AI platforms, reusable algorithm infrastructure, and engineering systems
• Own the end-to-end recommendation stack, including candidate retrieval, ranking, re-ranking, experimentation, and large-scale online serving
• Partner closely with product and business leaders to translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing AI/ML engineering team with strong technical culture and execution standards
• Evaluate emerging technologies across LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, multimodal systems, and define practical implementation paths for business adoption

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field (Master’s / PhD preferred)

• 5+ years of hands-on AI / machine learning engineering experience
• 2+ years leading and managing technical teams
• Proven production experience building and deploying AI-powered customer service, AIGC, or applied LLM systems
• Deep expertise in large-scale recommendation systems, including:
• Candidate retrieval
• Ranking and re-ranking
• Personalization
• Real-time serving systems
• Large-scale online experimentation
• Strong production experience with large language model engineering, including:
• Prompt engineering
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Fine-tuning
• Agent-based architectures
• LLM application deployment at scale
• Hands-on experience building enterprise knowledge systems from 0 to 1, including:

• Experience building AI platforms / MLOps infrastructure
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering productivity tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, agentic developer workflows)
• Experience building or deploying AI agent systems in production
• Willingness to relocate to Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur for an onsite leadership role
