Key Responsibilities
Assist government personnel with managing the Personnel Security Program, associated security databases, personnel security files, and other administrative files in accordance with applicable regulations, instructions, policies, and/or established guidelines.
Developing, coordinating, and updating Personnel Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual that reflects the current operating environment.
Perform daily data updates to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and government-owned databases for all organizational personnel.
Perform accurate and timely updates of personnel briefings and debriefing records in DISS and NBIS or the applicable system.

Salary: $100,000 - $112,000/year

Work Location: Fully remote

Gunnison Consulting is seeking an experienced Personnel Security Specialist to assist with the US Tax Court’s personnel security team. The selected candidate will provide the full spectrum of personnel security support to the Government Client. This position will include ensuring government security requirements are met, coordinating and working with internal and external organizations, generating solutions for new and developing security programs, and employing risk management practices in supporting security goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist government personnel with managing the Personnel Security Program, associated security databases, personnel security files, and other administrative files in accordance with applicable regulations, instructions, policies, and/or established guidelines.
  • Developing, coordinating, and updating Personnel Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual that reflects the current operating environment.
  • Perform daily data updates to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and government-owned databases for all organizational personnel.
  • Perform accurate and timely updates of personnel briefings and debriefing records in DISS and NBIS or the applicable system.

Requirements

  • US citizenship required.
  • Current/Active Secret security clearance
  • Personnel Security experience, including knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), e-QIP, Defense Information System for Security (DISS), and National Background Investigation Service (NBIS).
  • Experience initializing/initiating personnel security investigations using e-QIP.
  • Experience in DISS and NBIS databases
  • Experience with the entire lifecycle of personnel security support.
  • Experience supporting DoD Personnel Security functions.
  • Experience analyzing various types of materials to develop information regarding security vulnerabilities as they would apply to approval or denial of facility or information system access.
  • Knowledge of Federal personnel security principles, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of administrative regulations and sanctions that apply to violations or non-compliance with security regulations.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook application skills
  • Experience with Department of Defense Personnel Security services.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
