Key Responsibilities
Champion quality assurance initiatives and promote best practices across product and engineering teams
Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to define effective test strategies and acceptance criteria
Plan, design, and execute detailed manual and automated test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of features and user scenarios
Drive technical decisions related to testing processes, tools, and frameworks
Build, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework to improve efficiency and coverage
Mentor and guide test engineers on automation best practices and testing methodologies
Identify, document, and track defects with clear and actionable reporting
Verify bug fixes, maintain regression test suites, and support continuous QA process improvements
Conduct exploratory, usability, and edge-case testing to uncover hidden issues
Produce detailed test reports and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
Help define and maintain test environments that mirror production settings
Continuously evaluate and improve QA workflows, tools, and team productivity, including AI-powered testing solutions

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our expanding Engineering team. This remote‑first position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere or from our Downtown Vancouver office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Your primary focus will be identifying bugs, verifying fixes, and implementing comprehensive testing strategies to deliver a seamless user experience. You will collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to define test plans, develop automation frameworks, and promote best practices in quality assurance. Your expertise will help shape our testing processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of our product quality across all releases.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA, with proven expertise in manual and automated testing
  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of elevating QA standards
  • Experience designing and implementing QA strategies in agile development environments
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing lifecycles, and tools
  • Proficiency in exploratory, regression, and smoke testing techniques
  • Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and responsive UI testing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Familiarity with Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript or other high-level programming languages
  • Leadership experience in software development or testing roles
  • Familiarity with modern AI‑driven tools such as Claude Code
