Senior Data Architect

We are currently partnering with a fast-growing AI & Data consulting company in Japan that is actively expanding its AI & Data division and is now looking for a Senior Data Architect.

Japanese Language Business Level is a Must for this Position.

Please note that prior financial industry experience is NOT required.

The company works directly with some of Japan’s leading financial institutions and enterprise groups, helping them modernize large-scale data environments, implement AI-driven solutions, and build organization-wide data strategies. Their projects cover everything from enterprise data platforms and AI governance to GenAI modernization initiatives and large-scale cloud transformation programs.

This position offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-grade data architecture projects involving large-scale financial data environments, AI enablement platforms, cloud-native data infrastructure, and next-generation analytics ecosystems.

The role is highly strategic and hands-on, involving architecture design, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration with AI/Data Science teams across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture design and technical strategy for enterprise data and AI platforms

• Design modern DWH / Data Lake architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Drive data governance, ETL design, and enterprise-scale data modeling initiatives

• Work closely with clients to analyze current environments and define future-state architecture

• Support implementation teams with technical guidance around Snowflake, Databricks, cloud platforms, and modern data ecosystems

• Collaborate with AI and Data Science teams on AI-ready infrastructure and governance design

• Promote architecture standardization and knowledge sharing across projects

• Support AI modernization initiatives involving GenAI and large-scale enterprise transformation

Requirements:

• Experience designing enterprise data platforms such as DWH, Data Lake, or governance environments

• Experience leading technical projects and managing teams

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Experience with modern data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar

• Business-level Japanese

• Eligibility to work in Japan

Preferred:

• AI governance / AI security knowledge

• Experience with machine learning or AI-related systems

• Experience building LLM/RAG-based applications

• English communication skills

• Consulting or enterprise client-facing experience
