About the Role 🪩
District Community is seeking a part-time Community Manager role managing the full lifecycle of monthly events across New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles - from venue sourcing and sponsor coordination to logistics and budget, while leading all member-facing communications, including newsletters, event pages, and post-event content.
Event Ownership

- Event Execution: Own the planning and execution of monthly events across San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York (1-3 events per month total), from concept through post-event follow-up.
- Venue & Vendors: Drive venue sourcing, vendor coordination, menu planning, and billing, ensuring seamless execution and a high-quality member experience.
- Sponsor Management: Lead sponsor coordination for co-hosted events, managing relationships and ensuring alignment on goals, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Event Logistics: Maintain full ownership of event logistics, including RSVP management, attendee tracking, and on-the-ground execution.
- Budget Oversight: Manage event budgets and expenses with attention to efficiency and accuracy.
Marketing & Communications Ownership
- Event Comms: Own the creation and distribution of event-related communications, including Luma pages, newsletters, WhatsApp updates, and email outreach.
- Newsletter Creation: Craft and send biweekly newsletters that highlight upcoming events, member updates, and key moments from past programming.
- Post-Event Content: Translate events into compelling content by capturing and sharing recaps that extend the impact of each gathering via LinkedIn, Newsletter, WhatsApp.
- Virtual Programming: Support and execute virtual programming, ensuring consistency in quality and member engagement across formats.
- Founder Updates: Meet 1x weekly with the founder to inform them of key metrics and share any blockers.Â

This is a remote role, ideally based in or near New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles to support on-the-ground events. The position is approximately 20 hours per week at $60/hour.
About You 🌟
- Experience as a community manager or marketing lead who fully owns and executes in-person events.Â
- Take full ownership of your work from planning through execution and follow-up, with strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple events, timelines, and stakeholders across cities at the same time.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with founders, investors, sponsors, and vendors.
- Comfortable managing external relationships and representing the brand in a polished but approachable way.
- Strong writer and communicator, able to create event pages, newsletters, and member-facing updates.
- Self-starter who takes initiative, moves quickly, and follows through without needing oversight.
