Are you an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineer or similar with experience building AI-powered products, looking to join an ambitious AI-native startup developing the future operating system for UK property maintenance? In this role, the successful Senior AI Engineer will take ownership of the company's AI agent platform, designing and building production-grade AI systems that drive real customer outcomes. You will work across agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, observability, guardrails and performance optimisation whilst helping establish best practices for AI development across the business. Working within a small autonomous squad, you will have significant influence over technical direction and product strategy.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python development experience or similar alongside hands-on exposure to AI, machine learning, LLMs or data-driven software solutions. Experience building production systems and solving complex technical challenges is essential, whilst any exposure to modern AI tooling, automation platforms or regulated environments would be advantageous.

The Role:

• Design, build and optimise production AI systems and intelligent agents

• Develop RAG pipelines, LLM integrations and orchestration frameworks

• Implement AI safety controls, evaluation frameworks and observability tooling

• Work within a small autonomous engineering squad driving product innovation

The Person:

• Strong Python development experience or similar

• Experience building AI, machine learning or data-driven software solutions

• Ability to solve complex technical challenges and work autonomously

• Looking to play a key role within a fast-growing technology business
