About The Role
We are seeking a talented Junior Backend Software Developer to join our team supporting a high-visibility federal modernization program. The successful candidate will work closely with a collaborative team to support large-scale, mission-critical government IT systems, solving complex technical challenges and delivering reliable, scalable software solutions. A minimum Secret Security Clearance is required, and the role emphasizes development in cloud-native environments, microservices architecture, and enterprise system operations. This position is ideal for individuals eager to grow their skills in a dynamic, mission-driven setting while making a tangible difference at a national level.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or Associate’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience
- Active Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
- Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Programming
- Experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and automated deployment tools
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and operating solutions within AWS or other cloud platforms
- Experience with event-driven architectures, including Apache Kafka, Pub/Sub patterns, streaming, or event sourcing
- Experience working within GitOps practices using tools like GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or ArgoCD
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in Scrum or SAFe ceremonies
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket

- Develop, modify, and maintain computer applications and specialized utility programs
- Create microservices within a cloud-native environment, primarily on AWS GovCloud
- Operate and troubleshoot enterprise-scale production systems to ensure high availability and performance
- Analyze user needs and develop robust software solutions aligned with organizational and mission objectives
- Design and develop database schemas, working independently or collaboratively within a team
