Junior Database Administrator - Remote

The team supports database planning, engineering, and ongoing performance evaluation to ensure that data solutions align with organizational needs and standards.

2. About the Opportunity:

The Database Administrator, Jr. is responsible for implementing and maintaining complex databases and data solutions. This role supports the design, development, testing, and debugging of database systems, ensuring efficient and effective operation. The position plays a critical role in monitoring database performance, scalability, and security, and assists with updates and integration efforts to meet evolving organizational requirements. The role is fully remote with set weekday hours.

3. Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain one or more complex databases
• Analyze and develop data solutions including architecture design and prototyping
• Assist in planning and engineering database systems
• Monitor database performance, scalability, and security
• Evaluate existing database designs to recommend updates and integrations

• Develop and test code, modules, and data solutions following design standards
• Debug and resolve issues related to data solutions

4. Requirements:

• Experience with complex build systems
• Experience configuring, integrating, and securing database systems such as RDS, Aurora, Cassandra, and Dynamo
• Experience supporting Linux systems engineering in design, evaluation, development, or administration
• Familiarity with Database Schema as Code tools
• Ability to create complex SQL queries and reports
• Experience with database partitioning and microservices

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies or software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of Oracle databases (only Oracle DBMS supported)
