ABOUT KRAFTRAUM
Founded in 2025 by a group of tech and gaming industry veterans, KRAFTRAUM is a top-tier development studio specializing in co-development and full-cycle game production.
With decades of collective experience across multiple shipped AAA titles, we ramp up fast – and we ship. We’re industry-leading experts in Unreal and Unity, MMO technology, and game UI/UX, with a proven track record of elevating player experiences across every product we’ve worked on.
As part of the KRAFTRAUM team, you can work from our collaborative office spaces or remotely – our hybrid setup gives you the flexibility, while our culture keeps everyone connected.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Gameplay Programmer, you’ll own core systems while working closely with the rest of the team. This isn’t a “lone wolf” role – but it does require someone who can take full responsibility for key areas and drive them forward without waiting for permission.
You’ll work directly with designers, communicating your implementations clearly and pushing back on design decisions when it makes the game better. Strong judgment matters here: knowing when to act on your own, when to loop others in, and when to challenge an idea constructively.
Your focus will span gameplay systems, networking, and UI – all within Unreal Engine. You’ll play a key role in shaping and refining the MVP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and drive core gameplay systems in Unreal Engine – from design through implementation and iteration.
- Build and maintain multiplayer infrastructure, including client-server architecture, prediction, reconciliation, and lag compensation.
- Collaborate directly with designers – communicate your work clearly, give constructive feedback, and challenge decisions when needed.
- Develop UI systems using UMG, including layout, integration with gameplay, and frontend polish.
- Integrate online service platforms (PlayFab, AccelByte, or similar), including backend services and moderation systems.
- Troubleshoot and optimize across full stack – from gameplay logic to network performance.
- Contribute to workflow improvements and tooling, including the use of AI agents in daily development.
