Job Description


Adecco Search is actively recruiting for a Casting Manager in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Our client is a leader in Aluminum Extrusion with multiple plants throughout the United States. We are seeking an experienced Casting Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a high-volume aluminum casting facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, employee engagement, and operational excellence within the casting department.

The Casting Manager will oversee supervisors, hourly production employees, and support personnel while partnering closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety teams to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on production performance, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives within a growing manufacturing organization. The Casting Manager will offer a base salary, bonus, benefits, 401K, opportunity for growth and relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities for the Casting Manager in New Jersey:

  • Manage all aspects of daily casting operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Lead and develop supervisors and hourly team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, productivity, quality, yield, downtime, and scrap reduction.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to maximize operational performance.
  • Drive accountability and foster a culture of teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a world-class safety culture by ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to identify and address safety concerns and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, corrective actions, and employee training initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment while promoting employee ownership of safety performance.
  • Support casting operations involving aluminum melting, alloy management, billet production, and homogenization processes.
  • Ensure adherence to operating procedures and quality standards throughout the casting process.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.
  • Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and employees to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and training.
  • Support succession planning and employee development initiatives.

Key Requirements for the Casting Manager in New Jersey:

  • Minimum of 5 years of casting leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Aluminum chemistries and alloy management
  • Aluminum scrap handling and utilization
  • Combustion systems
  • Refractory systems
  • Homogenization processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety with an excellent safety record.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing supervisors and production personnel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience within aluminum extrusion, rolling, casting, or primary metals manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience leading teams in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with production planning, KPI management, and process optimization.
