About The Role
As an Engineering Manager at Arbolus, you will lead a product-focused engineering team while staying hands-on and close to the codebase. This role combines people management, technical leadership, architecture, and direct contribution to the code when needed.
You will help the team build scalable, reliable backend solutions, make good technical decisions, and continuously improve how we deliver software. You will work closely with Product, Design, Frontend, and other Engineering Managers, using our stack of .NET 8, C#, PostgreSQL, React, and Python for Machine Learning.
Key Responsibilities You Will Be In Charge Of
- Lead, support, and grow a team of software engineers.
- Stay hands-on by contributing to the codebase when needed, reviewing code, and helping unblock technical problems.
- Work with Product, Design, and other Engineering Managers to define priorities and deliver product improvements.
- Improve how the team builds software, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, architecture, and technical debt.
- Help the team use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity and quality.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers, including feedback, support, and career development.
- Comfortable staying close to the codebase: contributing code, reviewing pull requests, discussing architecture, and helping unblock technical problems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with .NET, React, SQL databases, or PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Curious about AI-assisted development tools and eager to use them to improve productivity, quality, and delivery.
- Clear communicator who can explain ideas simply, listen well, and work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering.
