Full-Stack Developer (Part-time, Remote)

Work across the whole stack — squashing bugs, sharpening the UI, and shipping features end-to-end, with React up front and a backend you'll grow into. If you love breaking things (then fixing them better), keep reading.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're Chef.i, a restaurant discovery platform that helps people find their next great meal. We're a small, fast-moving team that ships often — and we're looking for a full-stack developer in the making to join us.

You'll work closely with the team to track down and fix bugs across the stack, polish the UI, build out the backend, and help keep everything sharp. It's hands-on work that'll teach you a ton — and your work will be visible from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Hunt down and fix bugs across the stack — frontend and backend — alongside the rest of the team.

• Build and ship features end-to-end, from React components to backend APIs.

• Polish the UI until every screen feels sharp and intentional.

• Work on the backend — APIs, SQL queries, and the systems behind the product.

• Keep things stable with Storybook stories and Jest tests.

• Learn fast and grow wherever you're thinnest — this is real work with real impact.

WHERE THIS ROLE GOES

This is a true full-stack role, and you'll work both sides from early on — React and Next.js up front, Elixir and our APIs behind them. You'll start where you're strongest and lean into the rest, with the team alongside you.

Never written Elixir? That's completely fine — most of the team hadn't either. The plan is to teach you and grow you into a well-rounded full-stack engineer, with the team supporting you the whole way.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need to have mastered everything. You should be solid with React, comfortable with the everyday tools of the trade — Git, Docker, the command line — and genuinely excited to work across the full stack.

• Frontend: React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Storybook, Jest

• Backend & data: Python, SQL, GraphQL, REST

• Workflow & tooling: Git, Docker, CLI / terminal

• You'll learn on the job: Elixir, Phoenix / Ecto

• Bonus points: Motion.js (animation), Three.js (3D / WebGL)

No Elixir experience? Don't sweat it — Elixir is our backend, and we'll teach you from scratch. Most of the team picked it up right here. Being solid with React and curious about the rest matters far more.
