Role Description The Technologist++ | Software Engineer, you can think as a Junior Software Engineer role with immediate room for growth, ownership and more, is a full-time contract to hire remote role focused on designing, building, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. It will start with a 1 week - 1 month probationary period, the ceiling is as much revenue as you can generate and generous equity in a startup based on contributions. In this position, you will collaborate with other senior engineers and any new stakeholders to understand requirements, propose technical approaches, and implement robust, scalable features. Your day-to-day work will include writing clean, testable code, reviewing peer code, debugging and resolving issues, and improving application performance. As well as integrating into a new AI infused CI/CD to begin making contributions on day one. There will be possibly one meeting a week with a meeting with the core team members monthly in a town hall environment. There is also opportunities if you wish with hybrid in-person work on the East Coast of the United States, this company is registered on the East Coast of the United States of America but open to eventually employing anyone worldwide so if you have enough freetime for a startup fast-paced environment feel free to apply, we work mostly async.


You will help define and refine engineering best practices, contribute to architectural decisions, and participate in regular planning and retrospectives, with full ownership and creative control opportunities across our stack. The role also involves documenting technical decisions, providing clear status updates, and working closely with product and operations teams to deliver reliable, user-centered software in our evolving tech landscape with new CI/CD integrations.


Qualifications

  • Possesses strong software development skills, including proficiency in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar) and familiarity with common frameworks. Coding with AI is ok, or being entry level, we just want you to be confident in learning and explaining your thought processes as we work together to keep building on high ROI endeavors
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of software architecture and design principles, including object-oriented design is highly coveted and the ability to write modular code (if you're just starting out that's okay too we are just looking to adhere to a certain level of professionalism across projects), APIs, microservices, and event-driven or distributed systems.
  • Be prepared to develop automations around these event-driven processes.
  • Has experience with modern development practices, such as version control (Git), code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile or iterative workflows.   • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or has equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a startup or evolving environment is a plus but not required.
