Job Description
Role Description This part-time remote Senior QA Automation Engineer role at GE - Régulation du travail et du commerce (OCIRT) focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions supporting regulatory and commercial workflows. The Senior QA Automation Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated test frameworks and test scripts for web and backend applications, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. Daily tasks include analyzing requirements and specifications, creating and executing detailed test cases, and identifying, documenting, and tracking defects through resolution. The role also involves performing targeted manual testing when needed, optimizing test coverage, and collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify acceptance criteria and promote quality best practices. The engineer continuously improves testing tools, standards, and processes, mentors team members on QA automation, and contributes to release readiness and risk assessment activities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Quality Assurance and Software Testing, with experience defining test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria for complex systems.
- Proficiency in designing and executing Test Cases and scenarios, including regression, functional, integration, and user acceptance tests.
- Hands-on experience with Manual Testing techniques to validate edge cases, critical workflows, and exploratory testing needs.
- Demonstrated expertise in QA Automation, including building and maintaining automated test suites, test frameworks, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with common test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or similar) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, REST-assured) and basic knowledge of databases and SQL for data validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to clearly document and communicate defects and test results.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams, manage time independently in a part-time remote environment, and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in public sector, regulatory, or compliance-related projects is an advantage, as is familiarity with agile or scrum methodologies.
