Senior Backend Engineer - Founding Team

What You’ll Actually Work On

This is a backend-leaning, product-focused role.

You’ll work on:

• distributed cloud systems
• highly scalable backend architecture
• infrastructure and platform capabilities
• complex system design challenges
• performance, reliability and developer tooling
• translating difficult technical problems into products customers use

You’ll work closely with product and founders and be trusted to own problems end-to-end.

This isn’t an environment where engineering operates as a service function.

Engineering drives outcomes.

If your background is in:

• Python
• Java
• Go
• Rust
• or similar backend ecosystems

you should absolutely apply.

Strong fundamentals, system design ability, product instinct and the ability to learn quickly matter significantly more than prior experience in a specific language.

Who They’re Looking For

They’re looking for strong senior engineers who want difficult technical work and high ownership.

Typical backgrounds might include:

• 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience (many hires have more)
• strong backend engineering fundamentals
• experience building production systems
• excellent academic track record
