Job Description

Pegasus exists to rebuild the critical supply chains powering the next generation of robotics.

Today, the United States depends heavily on foreign adversaries for the materials and components at the heart of modern robotic systems. China dominates the production of NdFeB permanent magnets, electric motors, and actuator supply chains that power everything from humanoid robots and autonomous systems to aerospace and defense platforms.

We’re changing that.

Pegasus is building domestic manufacturing capacity for NdFeB permanent magnets and precision actuators, creating a resilient American supply chain for robotics. We are a lean, well-capitalized team moving quickly to establish the industrial foundation required for the next century of automation.

We’re looking for exceptional engineers who want to build real hardware, move fast, and help restore America’s manufacturing capabilities.

The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer to design, prototype, and scale the equipment, tooling, and manufacturing systems that will power our magnet and actuator production operations.

You’ll own projects from concept through commissioning, working directly with suppliers, machinists, operators, and leadership to turn ideas into production-ready systems.

What you'll do

Design mechanical systems, fixtures, tooling, manufacturing equipment, and production infrastructure using CAD (Fusion).

Develop and optimize systems used in magnet processing, motor manufacturing, actuator assembly, and factory automation.

Specify components, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing methods for demanding industrial environments.

Build prototypes, conduct experiments, analyze results, and rapidly iterate designs.

Work closely with machine shops, fabrication partners, and vendors to move designs from concept into production.

Author technical documentation, assembly procedures, test plans, and operating instructions.

Support factory commissioning, process improvement, and scaling efforts as production grows.

What you bring

Required

Proficiency in CAD (Fusion preferred).

Hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, prototyping, or manufacturing equipment.

Strong mechanical intuition and ability to translate concepts into manufacturable designs.

Comfort working directly on hardware and spending time on the factory floor.

Strong attention to detail and engineering rigor.

Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced build-measure-learn environment.

Availability to start soon.

Preferred

Experience with electric motors, actuators, robotics, industrial equipment, automation systems, or manufacturing machinery.

Experience with vacuum systems, thermal systems, material handling equipment, or precision mechanical assemblies.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, casting, or assembly operations.

Coursework or experience in mechanical engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, robotics, or related disciplines.

Comp

Competitive base salary.

Meaningful equity ownership.

Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

Relocation support.

Visa sponsorship available if needed.
