OVERVIEW

At Orion, we are seeking a Network Engineer to support enterprise network operations. This opportunity is hands-on with strong expertise in routing & switching and network security. You can independently troubleshoot, design and implement network solutions with minimal ramp-up time.


OPPORTUNITY

6-month contract with potential extension; Fully Remote with limited travel (U.S. – All Time Zones)


SALARY

$110,000 – $120,000 W2 plus health benefits


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine user requirements and develop network design specifications.


  • Design, implement, and support network infrastructure, including upgrades and enhancements.


  • Configure and manage network routing and switching environments.


  • Support and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls and secure access controls.


  • Monitor network performance and adjust capacity to meet business demands.


  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring optimal uptime and reliability.


  • Coordinate network operations, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., architects, business stakeholders) to align network solutions with organizational needs.


  • Develop and implement solutions for network related problems with minimal supervision.


KEY TECHNICAL FOCUS AREAS

  • Routing & Switching (Primary)


  • Network Security (Primary)


  • Wireless Networking (Preferred)


KEY EXPERIENCE

  • 5–7 years of experience in network engineering (Level 3 preferred)


  • Strong routing and switching experience in an enterprise environment


  • Experience with network security engineering concepts and tools


  • Wireless networking knowledge is a plus


  • Experience with the following technologies: Cisco and Extreme Networks, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, and Aruba wireless solutions


  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required


INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Quick turnaround: preliminary interview followed by team interview.


  • Typically, one round with the hiring manager and team, possibly two rounds if needed.
