Job Description


We are looking for a passionate and analytical Level / Systems Designer to join our game development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing engaging gameplay experiences, creating and balancing game systems, and ensuring that player progression remains challenging, rewarding, and enjoyable.

You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, artists, and producers to shape gameplay mechanics, progression systems, and level content for strategy-focused game experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who combines creativity with strong analytical thinking and enjoys solving complex gameplay and balancing challenges.



Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and iterate on gameplay systems, mechanics, and progression loops
  • Create and balance game economies, resources, rewards, difficulty curves, and progression systems
  • Design levels, missions, scenarios, and gameplay encounters that align with the overall game vision
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, balancing spreadsheets, and gameplay specifications
  • Analyze player behavior, playtest results, and game data to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with developers to implement and refine gameplay systems and features
  • Work closely with QA and production teams to validate gameplay quality and balance
  • Continuously iterate on designs based on testing, feedback, and performance metrics
  • Research market trends, competitor games, and player expectations to improve game experiences
  • Utilize modern tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to accelerate design iteration and prototyping when appropriate


Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Game Design, Systems Design, Level Design, or related roles
  • Strong understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and progression systems
  • Experience designing and balancing gameplay systems for strategy, simulation, tactical, RPG, or similar genres
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with spreadsheets and balancing tools
  • Ability to translate gameplay concepts into clear design documentation
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary development teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain design decisions logically
  • Strong passion for video games and game development


Nice to Have

  • Experience working on strategy, RTS, 4X, simulation, or management games
  • Experience using Unity or similar game engines
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge (C#, Lua, Python, etc.)
  • Familiarity with telemetry, game analytics, and data-driven balancing
  • Experience designing AI behaviors, combat systems, economies, or progression frameworks
  • Experience utilizing AI tools to support game design workflows, prototyping, or content generation
  • Shipped commercial game titles
