We are placing inspirational learning and impactful research at the centre of this strategy, recognising our academic expertise as our greatest asset.
The School
With nearly 50 years of excellence in Occupational Therapy education (established in 1977), the university is proud to be home to one of the UK’s most established and respected programmes. Occupational Therapy sits within the School of Health Sciences, a dynamic academic community offering a broad portfolio of pre-registration, accredited programmes, including Adult Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Diagnostic Radiotherapy, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. This rich blend of disciplines creates a vibrant and collaborative learning environment, providing excellent opportunities for interprofessional education that reflects the person-centred and patient-focused nature of contemporary healthcare. Staff and students benefit from state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities designed to support innovative educational approaches and simulation-based learning.
The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist to join our well-established academic team within the School of Health Sciences. The postholder will contribute across both the BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy programmes, playing a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of high‑quality Occupational Therapy education for the next generation of practitioners.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence curriculum development, inspire learners and contribute to a supportive academic community committed to excellence in teaching, research and professional practice
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have contemporary knowledge and experience in occupational therapy and hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist. A doctoral qualification is essential for the postholder to contribute meaningfully to teaching and learning and to research supervision across both pre-registration programmes.
