AI Engineer - Agentic AI Development

This is a full-time, remote AI Engineer role at Agent X, an AI company working at the front edge of agentic AI. Agent X builds fully customized agents for companies to automate repetitive work within their business, and increase their profit margins. 

As an AI Engineer, you are the person who proves what we sell is real. You will build, ship, and maintain the AI agents that do actual work inside our customers' businesses, demonstrate that the AI agents drive a high return on investment, and stay at the leading edge of how this technology is changing week to week. This is a hands-on building role for someone who is genuinely obsessed with AI agents and uses them every single day. If you are highly technical, a self starter, and want to build the best AI agents on the planet, this one is for you.

• Prove the Vision: Demonstrate that what we sell from an agentic AI perspective is viable, high-impact, and possible. Show that the agents we build drive a real, measurable return on investment for customers.
• Build Agents: Using our underlying software, build agents that actually work. Ship something real, not a prototype.
• Maintain & Improve: Keep agents running, fix what breaks, and continuously update them as customers need and the underlying tech evolves.
• Stay at the Edge: Keep up with trends and how things change in agentic AI, so we are always building with the best approaches available. We want to ship the absolute best agents we possibly can.
• Work With Customers When Needed: Some of this work puts you in front of customers. Being able to explain technical work clearly and pleasantly is a real plus.

• Highly technical. You can build, debug, and ship real software, not just experiment with it.
• Obsessed with AI agents. You use AI agents in your daily life every single day. This is a genuine, ongoing obsession.
• Self Starter. You take ownership, move fast, and figure things out without being handed a spec.
• Phenomenal English. Clear, professional communication, especially since some of this work is customer-facing. Non-native English speakers should hold a recognized C1 or C2 proficiency certification.
• Can prove it. You can show examples of high-ROI agents you have built, demonstrate that you can build working agents, and show that you stay up to date with where the field is going.
• Customer-friendly. Good communicator with the ability to interact well with customers. Client-facing experience is a plus.

This role is fully remote.

Compensation & Hours

• $1,500–$2,000 USD per month.
• Full-time, remote.

Agent X builds AI agents that handle real work inside a business around the clock. Rather than chatbots that just answer questions, these are autonomous agents that operate inside the tools a company already uses, like email, CRM, and Slack, and carry out entire workflows on their own from start to finish.

In practice, the agents do things like respond to incoming leads within seconds, generate reports overnight, reconcile invoices, research prospects, and handle the recurring tasks that normally take up a team's time. The work runs continuously without manual oversight.

Agent X is a fully done-for-you service. The company identifies which work is worth automating, builds custom agents for it, deploys them into a business's existing tools, and maintains and improves them over time. The result is companies that operate with the capacity of a much larger team.
