Job Description


Connamara Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to help design, build, operate, and optimize the infrastructure that powers our distributed systems at scale. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving performance challenges, and is passionate about modern cloud-native technologies.


You will work closely with software engineers, SREs, and product teams to create reliable, scalable, and efficient platform services that support mission-critical workloads. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of container orchestration, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and performance tuning.


Your contributions to Connamara Technologies will include:
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native platform infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Build and manage Kubernetes-based environments for production workloads.
  • Develop and improve automation, deployment, and operational tooling.
  • Design and maintain containerized application platforms using Docker and modern container technologies.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize large-scale distributed systems for reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment pipelines, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Build internal platform services and tooling using Go.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices to improve consistency and repeatability.
  • Analyze system bottlenecks and drive performance improvements across compute, networking, storage, and messaging layers.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend platform enhancements.
Required Skills
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining systems at scale
  • Strong experience operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Deep understanding of Docker and containerization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud providers, with working knowledge of:
  • AWS
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Experience developing software or automation tools in Go (Golang).
  • Strong experience with GitHub and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience operating distributed databases such as MongoDB.
  • Experience with event streaming and messaging platforms, preferably Redpanda or Apache Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Experience with observability tooling, monitoring, logging, and performance analysis.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across complex distributed systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Working knowledge of Golang
  • Familiarity with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of service meshes, ingress controllers, and cloud networking architectures.
  • Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Background in performance engineering and capacity planning.
