A fast-growing, venture-backed AI startup is building systems that fundamentally change how engineering teams detect, diagnose, and resolve production issues.

Instead of adding more dashboards and alerts, the platform uses AI-driven systems to automatically identify root causes, reconstruct system behaviour across logs and telemetry, and help engineers resolve incidents faster — often before users are impacted.

The company is backed by leading investors and is already working with high-growth technology teams. They are now hiring a Founding Engineer to help shape both the product and technical direction from the ground up.

This is a high-ownership role in a deeply technical environment where speed, curiosity, and execution matter more than process or hierarchy.

🔹 Building AI systems that detect and diagnose production incidents

🔹 Designing multi-agent reasoning workflows over complex system telemetry

🔹 Reconstructing system behaviour across logs, traces, deployments, and infrastructure events

🔹 Developing observability and instrumentation systems for modern software platforms

🔹 Creating automation that helps engineers identify root causes and fix issues faster

🔹 Solving entirely new technical problems with no predefined playbook

🔹 Contributing across product, infrastructure, and AI systems end-to-end

✅ Strong ability to operate independently in ambiguous, high-ownership environments

✅ Experience using AI to solve complex, real-world technical problems

✅ Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex systems clearly

✅ Proven track record of building, shipping, or contributing to meaningful technical work

✅ Strong bias toward action, curiosity, and hands-on problem solving

✅ Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate

• Enjoy solving unclear, first-principles engineering problems
• Take initiative and proactively explore technical challenges
• Are highly curious and enjoy hands-on experimentation
• Operate well in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments

➕ Experience in developer tooling, observability, infrastructure, or production systems

➕ Exposure to AI systems, agents, or distributed systems

➕ Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, or modern cloud environments

➕ Early-stage startup or founding engineer experience

➕ Strong independent technical projects, open-source work, or research contributions
