The team is seeking an engineer to support product test development for photonic integrated circuit (PIC) devices. This role involves characterization of PIC devices in both development and production phases.
Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans and algorithms for PIC and subassembly performance validation
- Build, implement, and document test hardware and software for device characterization
- Perform hands-on electrical, optical, and thermal probing and testing
- Develop automated production test solutions, including motion and vision control hardware and software
- Execute test station qualification activities, including Gage R&R and statistical process control (SPC)
- Document test solutions and communicate results with cross-functional teams
- Track schedules and milestones for test development projects
- Support characterization of photonic devices in both development and production phases

Requirements:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field with 5+ years of photonic IC test development experience
- Understanding of semiconductor optoelectronic devices (e.g., lasers, amplifiers, photodiodes, modulators, waveguides)
- Experience with electrical and optical characterization (e.g., diode characterization, laser threshold, spectral and optical power measurements)
- Programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, VB.NET) for instrument control and data acquisition
- Experience with test automation and data analysis
- Ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot test hardware and software
- Experience in production test environments, including tool qualification and SPC, is preferred
- Familiarity with data tools (e.g., JMP, SQL) is a plus
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
