Role Description The Senior Network Engineer role at Liberty Data Analytics is a part-time, remote position focused on designing, securing, and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure. In this role, the individual will architect and implement network solutions, configure routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, and perform ongoing monitoring to ensure high availability and performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving network issues, optimizing configurations, implementing security policies and controls, and creating documentation for topology, standards, and procedures. The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to support data analytics platforms, participate in network capacity planning, and help drive improvements in reliability and resilience.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Networking and Network Design, including experience with complex, multi-site or cloud-integrated environments.
- Proficiency in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Expertise in Troubleshooting network issues, using diagnostic tools and methodologies to quickly identify and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Network Security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, encryption, access control, and best practices for securing data in transit.
- Experience with TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and QoS in enterprise or service-provider environments.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), SD-WAN, and VPN technologies is highly beneficial.
- Ability to create clear network documentation, diagrams, standards, and runbooks, and to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent experience are preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities in a part-time schedule, and collaborate in distributed teams.
