Key Responsibilities

Building and Developing the Team

  • Chair management meetings that drive accountability and raise performance
  • Oversee sales representatives and customer service staff
  • Train, develop, and evaluate sales team members so they deliver their strongest work

Driving Sales and Strategy

  • Seek out and lock in new accounts throughout the wholesale, retail, and foodservice markets
  • Monitor the metrics that matter most, among them sales volume, profit margins, and customer satisfaction
  • Head up the sales team as it brings business development strategies to life within the fresh produce sector
  • Shape and put into motion strategic sales plans that meet revenue goals and tap the territory for all it is worth
  • Read the way the market is changing and what buyers are after to set competitive pricing strategies

Reporting and Regulatory Duties

  • Join forces with procurement to keep stock available and deliveries running on time
  • Put together regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior leadership
  • Stay on top of food safety and handling regulations

Operations and Customer Care

  • Handle contracts, negotiations, and credit terms with the company's most important clients
  • Partner tightly with warehouse and operations teams to keep product quality high and deliveries dependable
  • Hold on to and strengthen relationships with current customers while chasing down new business
  • Refine quality checks and bolster every touchpoint customers have with the company
  • Act as the company's ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings





Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • A number of years spent working with temperature-controlled logistics or distribution
  • A clear track record of designing strategic sales plans and reaching revenue targets
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • First-rate communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the produce or perishable goods industry
  • A strong working knowledge of the produce supply chain, from grower all the way to end customer
  • 2+ years spent in a management or supervisory role
  • At ease using CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A deep understanding of perishable logistics, cold chain management, and what customers expect across wholesale, retail, and foodservice channels
  • Strong ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Prepared to travel when needed for customer visits and industry events, both at home and occasionally abroad
  • A valid driver's licence

Preferred Qualifications

  • A record of building or reshaping sales teams
  • Experience with international accounts
  • A background managing both direct sales and customer service functions
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
