Job Description

Pixel Systems is a small team focusing on internal tools and data systems. We are currently helping a Swiss financial services group that is centralizing its regional operations and reporting. We need a Junior BI Analyst to help us process this information, build clear dashboards, and ensure that the figures our client sees are accurate. This is an entry level role where you will work closely with our developers to turn messy data into something useful for business managers.

About Pixel Systems
We are a remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not build flashy apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical work like admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to communicate. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward: we provide fixed quotes, we do weekly demos, and we hand over all code and documentation when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain.

The Role
In this position, you will be the person who translates raw data into meaningful business insights. Since our client in Switzerland is moving all their regional data into one central hub, you will spend time looking at different data formats and figuring out how they fit together. The work includes:
  • Reviewing data sets to find errors, duplicates, or missing information.
  • Writing SQL queries to pull specific information from Postgres databases.
  • Building and updating dashboards that track financial performance and compliance.
  • Mapping out how data flows from various spreadsheets into a centralized system.
  • Working with senior developers to ensure reports are pulling from the right sources.
  • Documenting where data comes from and how specific metrics are calculated.
  • Testing new reports to make sure the numbers match the source data.

What You Bring
We are looking for someone who is organized and pays close attention to the small things. You do not need years of professional experience, but you should have a solid grasp of how databases work. We need someone who is comfortable with the following:
  • Writing basic SQL queries to filter and join data.
  • Working extensively in spreadsheets to organize and clean information.
  • Communicating clearly in writing, as we are a remote team.
  • Thinking logically about how different pieces of information relate to each other.
  • Being comfortable with routine work, like checking data accuracy row by row.
  • Managing your own time and staying on top of tasks without constant oversight.

Helpful Background
While this is an entry level position, there are a few tools and skills that will help you get started more quickly. It is helpful if you have experience with:
  • Data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Metabase.
  • Basic understanding of how APIs move data between different software programs.
  • Using GitHub to manage files or simple projects.
  • Any experience with Postgres or other relational databases.
  • A basic understanding of financial terms like revenue, overhead, or margins.

Working at Pixel Systems
We are a fully remote company. You can work from wherever you are most productive. There are no layers of middle management here, so you will work directly with our developers and occasionally with the client. The position is paid and the pay is competitive for the role and the market. Our culture is built on being useful rather than being fancy. We ship work that helps real people, like operations managers and finance teams, do their jobs more easily. Because we are a small team, your work is visible and matters immediately to the projects we deliver.
We are a focused group that values honesty and clarity. We do not have long, unnecessary meetings or complex corporate hierarchies. Instead, we spend our time building software that lasts and solving real operational headaches. If you enjoy solving puzzles and want to see your work used by professional teams every day, you will find plenty of interesting work here.
