Backend Engineer (Node.js) for Trading Platform

We are looking for a strong backend engineer (Node.js) with solid experience in distributed systems to help us take our trading platform to the next level of functionality, scalability, and reliability. Our team is actively developing a new event-driven microservices architecture that will serve as a foundational platform for building and launching new trading applications.

You will be involved in end-to-end backend delivery: architecture discussions, system design, implementation, performance optimization, testing, and production release. The core stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, MongoDB, and microservices, but we are open to engineers from other backend backgrounds such as Java, .NET, Go, or C#, provided they have strong technical fundamentals and experience with scalable distributed systems.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers across technology and finance, building core platform services that support business-critical trading products.

What you will do

• Deliver backend software end-to-end — from requirement clarification to production release
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Coordinate with distributed engineering teams on architecture and implementation decisions
• Contribute to system design and architectural discussions

• Work closely with QA and DevOps teams to ensure production readiness and quality standards
• Maintain and improve reliability, scalability, and performance of core backend services
• Support continuous evolution of the trading platform used by professional market participants

Required

• 7+ years' professional web application development experience
• Expert-level knowledge of backend technologies, Node.js and TypeScript knowledge is a plus
• Experience with modern distributed systems and infrastructure technologies, including Apache Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, and MongoDB
• Broad knowledge of web platform and technologies
• Superior analytical and problem-solving ability
• Effective communication skills to work with different teams across an international company
• Automated unit testing and test-driven development
• Robust understanding of performance issues, computational complexity, and code optimization.
• Familiarity and implementation of industry-standard algorithms and design patterns
• Education: at least Bachelor's Degree in a field covering Computer Science fundamentals

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, capital markets, or electronic trading environments
• Background in performance profiling, system tuning, and high-load optimization
• Proactive, collaborative team player capable of delivering results in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
