Job Summary
Overall Purpose
The Network Engineer will maintain and optimise the Bank’s network infrastructure. This role focuses on executing standard networking solutions, ensuring reliability and supporting in addressing any related issues.
Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
- Deploying, configuring and maintaining network hardware, including switches, routers and wireless systems.
- Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Fulfilling and maintaining network security measures (such as ACLs, firewall policies and configurations).
- Assisting with network expansions, upgrades and migrations.
- Collaborating with other IT teams to support infrastructure projects.
- Providing second-tier support for complex network issues.
- Contributing to network automation efforts, including script development and testing.
- Managing day-to-day procurement and logistics tasks, including coordination with suppliers and internal departments, asset inventory tasks.
- Monitoring and maintaining the stability and performance of data centre environments.
- Aiding in new site deployments.
- Documenting configurations, processes and network changes.
- Researching and implementing new technologies and solutions to support ever-evolving project requirements.
- Evaluating and recommending networking tools and solutions.

This position requires the readiness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call responsibilities on a roster basis with rest of the team.
In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Criteria:
Previous proven work experience of three (3) years in an enterprise IT environment AND an MQF Level 5 Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related area.
OR
Previous proven work experience of four (4) years in an enterprise IT environment.
OR
Previous proven work experience of one (1) year in an enterprise IT environment AND an MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related area.

Associate level network/IT certifications (e.g. CCNA, etc.).
Familiarity and prior experience in a team focusing on network management, security and monitoring tools/technologies.
