Job Description
Overview
An early-stage, high-growth AI company is hiring a Marketing Analyst to help build the marketing measurement engine from the ground up.
This is not a traditional marketing execution role. The right person is analytical first and marketer second. You’ll own the systems, reporting, and experimentation framework that help the growth team understand what is working, what is not working, and what cannot yet be concluded.
The company sells into large, established enterprise buyers with long sales cycles, where trust, precision, and clear data matter more than high-volume growth tactics. This role is ideal for someone who is excited by rigorous measurement, clean experimentation, honest reporting, and building structure in an ambiguous startup environment.
You should be comfortable working in person in San Francisco 5 days a week and excited by an intense, high-ownership startup pace.
Location: San Francisco, CA
Work Type: Full-time, in-person, 5 days/week
Experience: 0–3 years
Compensation: $70,000–$100,000 + competitive equity
Visa Sponsorship: Not available
Relocation Assistance: Available
Responsibilities
- Own and build marketing measurement infrastructure across UTMs, CRM source tagging, pipeline attribution, and channel reporting.
- Design clean experiments across marketing channels with clear hypotheses, controlled setups, and honest readouts.
- Analyze campaign, funnel, and events data to surface insights that help guide budget allocation and channel prioritization.
- Report on marketing performance with intellectual honesty, including what is working, what is not working, and what the data cannot yet prove.
- Define and standardize funnel metrics so marketing, sales, and leadership are aligned around the same definitions.
- Identify gaps in measurement before the team spends more money on channels that cannot yet be properly evaluated.
- Support channel execution where needed, including things like LinkedIn campaign setup, reporting workflows, and operational deployment.
- Help build the foundation for a marketing function that makes decisions based on evidence rather than vibes, folklore, or spreadsheet confetti.

Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience in an analytical role. Your exact background matters less than the rigor and clarity you bring to data.
- Strong understanding of measurement infrastructure, including UTMs, CRM tracking, attribution, source tagging, and funnel reporting.
- Comfortable working with marketing analytics tools, CRM platforms, and performance reporting systems.
- Strong grasp of experimentation design. You know what a clean test looks like and understand why sample size, control conditions, and clear hypotheses matter.
- You start with the data and let it shape your conclusions rather than starting with the story you want the data to tell.
- Intellectually honest and comfortable reporting null, ambiguous, or negative results without overstating confidence.
- Clear written and verbal communicator who can explain what the data shows, what it does not show, and what the team should do next to non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable making directional recommendations when data is thin while being clear about confidence levels and limitations.
- Excited to work in person in San Francisco 5 days a week in a small, fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong ownership mindset. You notice broken systems, unclear metrics, or messy reporting and take initiative to fix them.
- Nice to Have
- Experience in insurance, finance, fintech, or another complex B2B industry.
- Experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, or pipeline reporting.
- Experience building measurement infrastructure from scratch rather than inheriting a clean, fully working system.
- Exposure to long enterprise sales cycles, senior buyers, or high-trust go-to-market motions.
