About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to join our expanding team at Surefront. This role is ideal for a passionate professional who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is eager to contribute to both product development and company growth. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering leadership and product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality features and functionalities. As a key member of our cross-functional agile development team, you will take ownership of critical projects, mentor less experienced engineers, and participate in technical interviews to help shape our talented engineering team. Initially remote, this position offers flexibility to work from anywhere, with a future transition to a flexible work arrangement based out of California once circumstances permit. The role provides an exciting opportunity to influence the technical direction of our products and to be part of a high-energy, innovative culture committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with React and Redux or equivalent front-end frameworks
• 1+ year of active leadership or mentorship experience in a technical role
• Strong proficiency in React with Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with responsive design and implementation
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and integration
• Previous startup experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine product requirements and specifications
• Lead the development of a React/Redux single-page application, ensuring high performance and scalability
• Make architectural decisions, select appropriate design patterns, and choose front-end libraries to optimize development and maintainability
• Ensure comprehensive testing of the codebase to maintain quality standards
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and suggest improvements aligned with industry best practices
• Coordinate effectively with other engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to the professional growth of the engineering team
