Overall Purpose
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement and manage advanced on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure solutions. This role includes leading projects, improving infrastructure efficiency, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring business-critical systems remain secure and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
- Architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise-grade IT systems, including servers, virtualisation platforms, and cloud-based solutions.
- Leading infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Monitoring and optimising system performance to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
- Developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures, including robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Managing system security, including patch management, baseline configurations, and vulnerability remediation.
- Automating routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across infrastructure layers.
- Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending adoption where they align with business and technical goals.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and changes.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- Assisting capacity planning efforts by helping forecast infrastructure needs based on growth trends and ensure scalability of systems.
- Monitoring infrastructure costs and identify opportunities for cost savings, particularly in cloud environments.
- Contributing to the long-term infrastructure strategy, aligning with business goals and emerging technologies.

This position requires the readiness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call responsibilities on a roster basis with rest of the team.

Required Criteria
Previous proven work experience of five (5) years in an Enterprise IT Environment, with a strong focus on IT Infrastructure AND an MQF Level 6 Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related area.

Previous proven work experience of seven (7) years in an Enterprise IT Environment, with a strong focus on IT Infrastructure.

Previous proven work experience of three (3) years in an Enterprise IT Environment, with a strong focus on IT Infrastructure AND an MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related area.

Desired Criteria:
A professional level IT Infrastructure Certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Solutions Infrastructure Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE), etc.)

Previous proven work experience in IT infrastructure (on-premise and cloud) management and monitoring tools.ÂÂ
