Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative focused on regulatory and SEC reporting. This individual will serve as the functional owner of complex data initiatives, partnering with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, architects, QA, and downstream reporting teams to ensure high-quality, trusted data is delivered across the enterprise.

This is not a hands-on development role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in enterprise data, regulatory reporting, requirements management, and Agile delivery, with the ability to organize work across multiple teams while driving data mapping, prioritization, and execution.

Success in this role requires someone who understands how enterprise data flows from source systems through transformation and into regulatory reporting platforms, while effectively managing competing priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Product Owner for enterprise data initiatives supporting regulatory and SEC reporting.
• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities are aligned across multiple regulatory initiatives and delivery teams.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from downstream reporting consumers.
• Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, attribute-level data requirements, and technical specifications.
• Lead source-to-target mapping activities, including authoritative data source (ADRS) selection, system-of-record (SOR) alignment, joins, filters, transformation logic, and business rules.
• Facilitate mapping reviews with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on data definitions, lineage, and delivery expectations.
• Partner with architects, data engineers, QA, and downstream reporting teams to coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams.
• Quickly assess and triage issues throughout the data lifecycle, determining whether defects originate from business requirements, mapping, technical specifications, or data quality.
• Support data testing and validation activities focused on completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, defect resolution, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain visibility into dependencies, risks, capacity, and delivery timelines while ensuring effective communication across stakeholders.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritization, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Drive alignment across multiple initiatives while balancing regulatory priorities and delivery commitments.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Data Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise data initiatives.
• Strong experience supporting regulatory reporting, SEC reporting, or financial reporting data environments.
• Demonstrated experience working with enterprise data platforms and large-scale data transformation initiatives.
• Proven expertise leading source-to-target mapping, data transformation, and requirements definition.
• Strong understanding of data lineage, authoritative data sources, system-of-record concepts, and enterprise data governance.
• Experience translating complex reporting requirements into detailed functional requirements, user stories, mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues related to business requirements, mapping, technical specifications, and data quality.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, QA, and reporting teams.
• Strong backlog management experience within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
