About the Company:

Our client is a fast-growing European technology company operating at the intersection of fintech, mobility, and B2B SaaS. Their platform enables seamless payments and mobility services across multiple European markets, connecting businesses, partners, and users through a rapidly expanding ecosystem of integrations.

With a strong focus on innovation, scalability, and AI-driven solutions, the company is building a unified integration platform that connects fleet management systems, ERP platforms, fintech products, mobility services, OEMs, and other partner ecosystems. Their technology landscape includes cloud-native microservices, event-driven architectures, modern frontend applications, and advanced AI tooling. They are now looking for a System Architect to shape the technical foundation of their next growth phase and establish a scalable integration platform that enables rapid partner onboarding and seamless ecosystem expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and evolve a unified integration platform supporting APIs, Webhooks, embedded components, SDKs, OAuth flows, and batch integrations.
  • Define scalable onboarding processes, sandbox environments, automated testing strategies, and self-service partner capabilities.
  • Architect data flow patterns across event-driven systems, analytics platforms, and internal services, ensuring consistency, observability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, AI, and Business teams to align platform architecture with company objectives.
  • Design partner-facing experiences including developer portals, integration playgrounds, self-service tools, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Drive AI adoption across the platform, including AI-assisted onboarding, intelligent troubleshooting, AI-powered support experiences, and AI-ready documentation.
  • Establish architectural standards, decision records, governance processes, and non-functional requirements covering security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Review solution designs and ensure all partner integrations align with a unified, reusable architectural approach.
  • Build prototypes and MVPs to validate concepts before scaling them into production-ready platform capabilities

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in architecture, technical leadership, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience designing and building integration platforms that connect diverse external systems through APIs, Webhooks, SDKs, embedded components, and batch processing.
  • Strong cloud-native expertise with Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, messaging systems (Kafka or equivalent), API design, and distributed systems.
  • Broad technical knowledge across backend technologies, frontend frameworks, databases, and modern software development practices.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and operations.
  • Practical experience with AI tools and AI-augmented systems, including AI coding assistants and modern AI architecture patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on mindset with a track record of building prototypes, validating ideas through code, and driving implementation

Bonus points:

  • Experience in fintech, payments, transaction processing, PCI-DSS environments, settlement flows, or financial systems.
  • Exposure to fleet management, mobility, transportation, automotive, EV charging, telematics, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka-based architectures.
  • Strong background with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, Vue.js, Kubernetes, GCP, BigQuery, or related technologies.
  • Experience building developer portals, API documentation platforms, SDK ecosystems, or partner-facing integration experiences.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven development workflows, context engineering, RAG architectures, agents, orchestration frameworks, and AI-enabled support systems.
  • Experience working in B2B SaaS environments and building highly configurable integration platforms.

In this role, you'll build a platform that enables new partners to integrate in days instead of months, standardize integration approaches across multiple ecosystems, and establish a scalable foundation that becomes a strategic competitive advantage for the business.
