Enterprise Storage Engineer

This role sits at the core of enterprise infrastructure, responsible for building and operating the storage backbone that powers critical applications across compute, virtualization, databases, and Kubernetes environments. The engineer will work across block, file, and object storage systems in both on-premise and cloud-integrated architectures, ensuring performance, resilience, and cost efficiency at scale. The environment is highly technical and automation-driven, requiring close collaboration with platform, DevOps, and security teams. The role has direct impact on system reliability, data availability, and overall infrastructure performance across production workloads. It offers the opportunity to work with modern storage platforms and large-scale distributed systems. Accountabilities

This role is responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing enterprise storage systems supporting mission-critical workloads across hybrid infrastructure environments. It requires hands-on ownership of storage platforms and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable data services.

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise storage systems across platforms such as NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, and Ceph
• Operate SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions across data center, edge, and cloud environments
• Build and support storage integrations for VMware, Kubernetes (CSI), and database workloads
• Develop and maintain replication, snapshot, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Implement storage automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs
• Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and cost across distributed storage systems
• Lead storage upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management while maintaining high availability
• Build observability and monitoring frameworks to proactively detect capacity and performance issues
• Troubleshoot complex multi-layer storage issues across network, host, and platform layers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align storage architecture with workload requirements and business needs
  
  

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise storage engineering experience, deep platform expertise, and the ability to automate and scale infrastructure operations. A strong mix of technical depth and communication skills is essential.

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on expertise with NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, or Ceph in production environments
• Solid understanding of SAN, NAS, and object storage architectures and protocols
• Experience integrating storage systems with VMware and Kubernetes environments
• Strong automation skills using Ansible, Terraform, scripting, or REST APIs
• Knowledge of storage performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization
• Experience with backup, replication, and data protection strategies
• Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud storage architectures is a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and operational discipline in production environments
