Job Description
We're looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to own the day-to-day health, performance, and availability of the SQL Server environment behind a core claims administration platform (Facets). This is a hands-on senior role in a SLA-driven environment supporting members and internal operations.
You'll be the primary DBA for the platform, working on a small team on day-to-day operations with backup from a broader support team for after-hours coverage and escalations.
What you'll do
- Own SQL Server backup, monitoring, and recovery across production and non-production environments
- Handle database development, data migration, and performance tuning
- Own SQL job maintenance and troubleshooting
- Manage user setup, permissions, and ongoing access maintenance
- Own patching, server maintenance, and standard DBA lifecycle work
- Support the Facets claims administration platform at the database layer
- Contribute to the ongoing transition off of legacy Oracle and Sybase environments
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation with backup coverage from a broader team

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in production environments
- Hands-on experience supporting TriZetto Facets environment
- Strong background in backup/recovery, performance tuning, and SQL job administration
- Proven ability to work independently, drive requirements, and operate without heavy oversight
- Comfortable operating within defined SLA and high-responsiveness support environments
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including scheduled after-hours maintenance windows
- US-based, working Eastern Time hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle and/or Sybase (legacy environments in active transition)
- Prior experience in a health plan, PBM, or other regulated healthcare setting
- Experience serving as a technical lead or escalation point for other DBAs

Position Details
- Fully remote, US-based, Eastern Time working hours
- Standard 40-hour work week during business hours
- Rotating on-call coverage shared across a broader DBA support team
- Approx. 1 scheduled after-hours maintenance window per month, typically on a weekend
- Approx. 1-2 overnight incident responses per month, covered by the on-call rotation team
Compensation
Hourly W2 with full benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k).
$65 to $90 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Work Authorization
W2 only. Unable to accommodate C2C arrangements or visa sponsorship.
