Job Description


This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Billing Systems Specialist based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to become a key contributor in optimizing the systems that support a growing SaaS subscription business.

You will work at the intersection of billing technology, finance operations, sales processes, and customer-facing teams.

The position focuses on improving quote-to-cash workflows, ensuring data accuracy, and driving automation across critical business systems.

You will act as a subject matter expert for billing platforms while solving complex operational challenges.

Working in a collaborative remote environment, you will partner with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

Accountabilities

As a Billing Systems Specialist, you will own and enhance the platforms and processes that support subscription billing operations. You will ensure billing systems remain accurate, efficient, and aligned with business needs while collaborating across departments to improve workflows and data quality.

  • Manage and optimize billing systems, including product catalogs, pricing structures, subscriptions, invoicing, and payment processes.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between Salesforce and billing platforms to ensure accurate data flow throughout the quote-to-cash lifecycle.
  • Drive automation initiatives and process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce manual operational work.
  • Partner with Finance teams to support billing accuracy, revenue operations, forecasting activities, and month-end processes.
  • Serve as the internal billing systems expert, resolving complex issues and supporting teams across Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Finance.
  • Analyze billing data, monitor system performance, and identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by documenting processes, identifying risks, and recommending system enhancements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines technical billing systems expertise with strong analytical and communication skills. You should be comfortable working across business and technical teams while managing complex SaaS subscription processes.

  • Hands-on experience with Zuora Billing, including product catalog management, SKU configuration, workflows, subscription amendments, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce and related business systems, with experience using or supporting Salesforce integrations preferred.
  • Experience with SaaS subscription billing concepts, including ARR, MRR, proration, amendments, renewals, and co-terming.
  • Understanding of quote-to-cash processes and the collaboration points between Sales, Finance, and operational systems.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate issues, identify patterns, and implement improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Experience working with tools such as Jira, Freshservice, Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT is an advantage.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with ownership over systems, processes, and operational outcomes.
