Role Description This part-time remote Senior Network Engineer role at PREMIUM-GRUPPE focuses on the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructures across multiple environments. The Senior Network Engineer monitors network performance, identifies bottlenecks, and applies corrective measures to ensure reliability, security, and scalability. Daily responsibilities include configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices; performing advanced troubleshooting of connectivity and performance issues; and documenting architectures, configurations, and procedures. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams on network-related requirements, implementing security best practices, and supporting continuous improvement of standards and policies.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network devices and services.
- Proficiency in Network Engineering and Network Design, with experience creating scalable, secure, and resilient architectures.
- Advanced Troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose and resolve complex network performance, connectivity, and routing issues.
- Solid understanding of Network Security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with common networking technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP, QoS).
- Familiarity with cloud or hybrid networking (e.g., Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms) is beneficial.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, or similar solutions).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are an advantage.
