Job Description
Product Owner (m/w/d) - Digital Platform / B2B2C SaaS
100% remote (Germany; Austria possible) · Permanent, full-time · €70,000–90,000
About the company
Our client is an established German manufacturer of professional security technology, with a strong position across the DACH market and a long track record in a sector where reliability is non-negotiable. They are now investing seriously in the digital side of their business, and this role sits at the centre of that.
The product
You will own the company's central digital platform for professional security systems - the successor to their existing solution and the strategic foundation for their digital services.
The platform is B2B2C: our client provides it to professional security installers and service organisations, who use it to manage their own customers and installed systems, while end customers access selected digital services through the same ecosystem. It covers three areas:
- Management - companies, users, permissions, customers, sites and security systems
- Remote service - secure access for installers and technicians to configure, diagnose, maintain and support systems without being on site
- Digital services - notifications, mobile and web applications, and further services built on the platform
This is a platform product at the intersection of security technology, SaaS and professional service operations - not a single application with a fixed feature list.
Your responsibilities

- Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy, and translate it into measurable goals
- Own and prioritise the product backlog and maintain the product roadmap
- Balance discovery and delivery: make assumptions explicit, validate them, and deliver validated outcomes rather than output
- Maintain regular contact with installers, technicians and internal stakeholders to build genuine market and user understanding
- Weigh business value, technical feasibility and user desirability when shaping solutions
- Define and track KPIs, and demonstrate the product's growing value
- Act as the single point of contact for the product, working closely with engineering, UX and cross-functional teams
- Help establish and mature modern product management practice within the organisation
What you bring
- Around 2–4 years' experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a software product environment
- A genuine product mindset: ownership, outcome orientation, comfort with ambiguity, and the confidence to make and explain decisions
- Solid understanding of software development fundamentals - enough to hold your own in technical trade-off discussions (coding is not required)
- Experience with modern prioritisation and product discovery methods
- Strong communication skills and the ability to bring stakeholders with you
- Fluent German (working language) and good English
- Based in Germany, or Austria

Not required: experience in security technology, hardware, or any specific industry. The domain will be taught - the product thinking is what matters.
What's on offer
- €70,000–90,000 depending on experience
- 100% remote, permanent contract with an established, financially stable German employer
- A strategically important product with visibility at senior level, rather than a peripheral project
- Ideally a mid-level hire: the company wants to develop with you, not import a finished playbook
- Real scope to shape how product management is done across the organisation
- A collaborative engineering and UX team, and stakeholders open to being challenged
